For our client we are looking for a CMF Designer
Job description:
As a Colour, Materials, & Finish (CMF) designer, you will be developing new colour, material and finishing designs for the future range of major appliances for the home. The role will require both strategic and creative hands-on work to develop and deliver innovative design solutions through the application of new and existing material technologies and manufacturing processes. The candidate needs to be highly detail-oriented, with excellent analytical problem-solving abilities, and have a collaborative and communicative approach to build strong partnerships within Design teams, R&D teams, Purchasing teams, and Suppliers to deliver innovative home appliances of the future.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Industrial Design, Fine Arts or equivalent
• 3-5 or more years of Colour, Materials, & Finish experience
• Passion for Colour, Material, Finishes, and manufacturing technologies and processes
• Comprehensive knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and finishing processes
• Understand and fluent on the use of cosmetic measurement techniques and tools
• Must have a strong working knowledge of 3D and 2D visualization software like Keyshot, Photoshop, & Illustrator. And working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
• Good communicator: visual, verbal, and the written word
• Self-driven, well-organized & motivated, and able to work independently
Job Responsibilities
• Create great CMF designs, based on trends, materials, manufacturing, and design thinking
• Creative exploration and implementation of design ideas that are in line with the overall design strategy
• Strong visual and verbal communication skills, and the ability to produce high-quality 2D and 3D visualizations
• Ability to create and maintain CMF specifications, and coordinate build reviews
• Actively collaborate with other design disciplines, product groups, R&D teams, and suppliers to execute projects independently in a global context
• Actively partner up with suppliers and R&D teams to develop new material technology projects and apply them on appliances§
